Changing Your Password

You can change your password at any time. The system prompts you to change it every 30 days. The administrative team can also force you to change your password at any time, in which case you receive a notification in the system.

To be accepted by the system, your new password must meet three of the following four characteristics.

• Include at least one alpha character
• Include at least one special character
• Include at least one number
• Include at least one capitalized letter

Your password must also:

• Be at least seven characters long.
• Be different from any of your prior passwords over the last six months.

  Note: Talk with your supervisor or the help desk if you have trouble changing your password or if you are locked out of the system.

To change your password

1. On the Tools menu, select Change Password.

   The Change Password window appears.

2. Next to Old Password, type your current password.
3. Next to New Password, type the new password you want.
4. Next to Confirm New Password, type the new password again to confirm it.
5. Click OK.

   Your password is changed. Use your new password next time you open the 3M MVS Console.
