1. How can I the weight on a heavy truck registration?

   You can increase the tonnage on a large truck between renewal periods.

   1. On the VRT menu, click Title and Reg > Update Registration.
   2. On the Update Registration Prequalifier window, enter the vehicle and customer information and click Continue.
   3. On the Application tab of the Update Registration window, enter the correct weight under Tonnage. The fees are calculated based on the updated tonnage.
   4. Process the rest of the transaction normally.
2. What if the increase in Declared Weight exceeds 12000 lbs?

   If the increased Declared Weight exceeds 12000, the customer will be eligible for a property tax refund because the system does not collect/compute property taxes on heavy trucks weighing more than 12000 lbs.
