Taking a Vehicle Out of Prorate

To take a vehicle out of prorate, you must update the usage on the registration. If the registration is due for renewal, you can renew it and update the registration in the update transaction. Change the usage to regular or special, depending on the new usage. For more information, see Updating an Active Registration.

If the new usage is special and the customer wants to change the registration to semi-annual, do the following in the update registration transaction:

• Change the Usage to special.
• Change the Received Date to the last day of the prior year (for example, 12/31/2010).
• Change the Due for Renewal date to the last day of the prior year (for example, 12/31/2010).
• Change the Registration Interval to semi-annual.
• Change the Registration Expiration Date to June of the current year.
