Modifying a User Profile

If you created a user profile, you can modify it at any time. You might want to do this if you made a mistake when setting it up or if a particular location, cash drawer, or printer is no longer available.

Modifying a profile is not the best solution if you want it to make it work with a location, cash drawer, or printer that you use intermittently. In that situation, set up a new profile so you can switch between the two as necessary. For more information, see Adding a User Profile and Switching Your User Profile.

Important: A profile affects all transactions that you perform while it is set as the default. For this reason, internal procedures may dictate the circumstances under which you should modify a profile.

To modify a user profile
  1. On the Tools menu, select Profiles.

    The Profiles window appears.

  2. Select the profile you want to modify from the Show options for profile list.
  3. Make the necessary changes to the Profile, Cash Drawer, Work Location, or User Options tabs.

For details about completing these tabs, see the Profiles window. The locations, cash drawers, and printers available on the lists in this window are dictated by your login account, which your system administrator sets up. If you don't see the item you need on these lists, contact your system administrator.

  4. Click Save.

Your changes to the profile are saved.

  5. Click Close.

    The window closes.
