Removing a Customer from a Group

To remove a customer affiliation with a group, you can add an end date. The record of the customer's affiliation with the group is kept as historical data.

You can end a customer's group affiliation in the group record or in the customer record. If you want to remove multiple customers from the same group, it is most efficient to remove the customers from the group record. If you want to remove only one customer from a group, either method is efficient.

To remove a customer from a group in the group record
  1. On the Customer menu, select Manage Customer Group.

    The Customer Group Search window appears.

  2. Enter search parameters to find the group from which you want to remove a customer.
  3. Click Search.

    The Results tab appears, listing the results of your search.

  4. Double-click the group from which you want to remove a customer.

    The Manage Customer Group window appears.

  5. Under Customer Affiliations in the line of the customer you want to remove, do one of the following:
  6. Repeat step 5 until you finish removing customers from the group.
  7. Click Save.

    The updated group information is saved, and the window closes.

To remove a customer from a group in the customer record
  1. On the Customer menu, select Manage Customer.

    The Search window appears.

  2. On the Customer tab, enter search parameters to find the customer you want to update.
  3. Click Search.

    The Results tab appears, listing the results of your search.

  4. Double-click the customer you want to update.

    The Customer Maintenance window appears, populated with detailed customer information.

  5. Select the Affiliation tab.
  6. In the line of the group from which you want to remove the customer, do one of the following:
  7. Click Save.

    The updated customer information is saved, and the window closes.
