Searching NMVTIS Manually

When you add a vehicle record to MOVRS, the system automatically searches NMVTIS to make sure the vehicle title is clean. If necessary, you can perform a manual search of NMVTIS based on a VIN.

First you must submit a request. Then you can check the results of the request.

To submit a NMVTIS request

1. On the VRT menu, select NMVTIS Vehicle Inquiry.

   The NMVTIS Vehicle Inquiry window appears.

2. Click Inquiry Request.
3. Enter the VIN.
4. Click Send.

   The request is sent. Write down the correlation ID, which you must use to get the results of your request.

To get the results of a NMVTIS request

1. On the VRT menu, select NMVTIS Vehicle Inquiry.

   The NMVTIS Vehicle Inquiry window appears.

2. Click Inquiry Response.
3. Enter the correlation ID from your request.
4. Click Get.

   The results of your inquiry appear.
