Changing the SI Holder Designation for MOVRS

If you have the appropriate level of permissions, you can change the SI holder designation for a customer. Otherwise, the Security Interest Holder check box is not available. Contact DMV if the check box is not available and you need to change a customer’s SI holder designation.

Important: A customer who holds an SI does not necessarily need to be designated as an SI holder. The SI holder designation is an indication that can help you group and find the major SI holders that you use. DMV maintains an official SI holder list.

A customer or organization designated as an SI holder must have an address.

To change the SI holder designation

1. On the Customer menu, click Manage Customer.

   The Search window appears.

2. On the Customer tab, enter search parameters to find the customer record you want to update.
3. Click Search.

   The Results tab appears, listing the results of your search.

4. Double-click the customer record you want to update.

   The Customer Maintenance window appears, populated with detailed customer information.

5. Do one of the following:
   • To add the SI designation, select the Security Interest Holder check box.
   • To remove the SI designation, clear the Security Interest Holder check box.
6. If you selected the Security Interest Holder check box, specify the security interest holder's address as follows:
   1. Select the Address tab.
   2. Click Add Row.
   3. From the Address Type list, select SI.
   4. Enter the remainder of the address information in the fields on this tab.
7. Click Save.

   The updated customer information is saved and the window closes.
