Inserting a Plate

You can insert a pre-existing plate that is eligible to be assigned to a vehicle but is not in listed in the database.

To insert a plate
  1. On the VRT menu, select Plate Maintenance > Insert Plate.

    The Insert Plate window appears.

  2. Enter the plate number and plate configuration.
  3. If the plate is county specific, enter the county.
  4. Click Get Customer to search for the customer.

    The Search window appears.

  5. Enter the search information and click Search.

    The customer number appears in the Plate Customer # field.

  6. Select one of the following options, if necessary:
  7. Click Save.
  8. If the plate does not already exist in inventory and has not been reserved, it is saved and can now be assigned to a vehicle.

If you accidentally assign the wrong plate type configuration as part of this process, you must edit the inserted plate to correct it. For more information, see Editing an Inserted Plate.
