Your user profile determines whether you can approve a discretionary edit. If you have the appropriate level of permission, you can approve the discretionary edit directly from the Error Worksheet window and proceed with the transaction.
If you do not have the appropriate level of permission, you must send a tag request to have another user process the discretionary edit. For more information, see Sending a Tag Request for Discretionary Edit Approval.
If you send a tag request, a notification is sent to a queue. A queue is an area where messages are held, similar to a file directory.
When a discretionary edit is processed, a tag is created as a record for how the edit request was handled. For more information, see Internal Messages. In MOVRS, queues are directly mapped to locations. For example, each county might have multiple queues that are accessible by different sets of users.
You can choose whether to send a tag request to a public queue or to a user's personal queue. If you send a notification to a public queue, all users who have permission to view the messages in that queue will have access to it. If you send a notification to a user's personal queue, only that user will have access to it.
You can select one or multiple queues to which you want to send a tag request for discretionary edit review.
