Documentation Typographical Conventions

Before you start using this guide, it is important to understand the terms and typographical conventions used in the documentation.

Documentation conventions

Convention description	Meaning
Menu item	Indicates a menu or menu option in a procedural step.
Button	Indicates an on-screen item in a procedural step, such as a button.
Emphasis	Indicates emphasis on a specific word or phrase.
Key	Indicates a key on the keyboard.
`Command`	Indicates a command, file name, or path.
Hint	Indicates a hint about how to complete a step in a procedure.
Important	Indicates information that is critical to your understanding or usage of the application.

Additional information is provided with the following notational conventions:

Note: Indicates information that supplements the main text, but is not critical.

Tip: Indicates information about how to use the application in a different way.

Caution: Indicates that a specific action or lack of a specific action could result in the loss of data.

Warning: Indicates that a specific action or lack of a specific action could result in physical harm to your computer or the server.
