  1. What is the difference between EZ Registration Renewal and regular Registration Renewal?

    Use EZ Registration Renewal to renew multiple vehicles for the same customer when the registration does not need to change for any of the vehicles. You can change only basic vehicle and customer details (such as vehicle color and customer address) when you use EZ Renewal.

    Use regular Registration Renewal when you need to change registration details, such as tonnage, plates, registration period, or usage or capture documents beyond the FHUT Tax document.

    EZ Registration Renewal allows you to renew multiple vehicle registrations at once. Regular registration renewal allows you to renew only one registration at a time; however, you can use Pay Later to group them into a single payment.

  2. A customer renewed multiple vehicles through EZ Renewal. After the customer received their registration, they returned and explained that they sold one of their vehicles prior to renewal and want a refund for that vehicle. The customer paid with a check. What do I do?

    The easiest way to handle this situation is to void the specific registration in MOVRS then request a refund for the amount paid for the registration renewal. See Voiding a registration. Also see Requesting a refund in the Cash Drawer and Finance online help.

  3. How do I start an EZ registration renewal with only the customer’s name?

    On the EZ Registration Renewal Prequalifier window, do not enter any information in the Vehicle or Customer ID fields. When you click Continue, the Search window appears and allows you to search and identify the customer based on their name.

  4. When I put a plate into the EZ Renewal Prequalifier window, I get hundreds of vehicles in my results, even though the customer owns only one of them. Why?

    This might be because the vehicle is being leased and the owner’s vehicles are being returned. To narrow the results to only the vehicle that the customer is renewing, return to the EZ Registration Renewal Prequalifier window and under Customer Relationship, select Lessee.

  5. When I went from EZ Renewal to Registration Renewal and processed a transaction, the EZ Renewal window stayed open, even after I completed the transaction. Do I need to do anything else to complete the renewal transaction?

    No. Close the EZ Renewal window.
