Ordering a Sample Plate

Customers can order sample plates to display as room decor or for amusement purposes. You can order a sample plate for a customer with either the default text of SAMPL or with specific personalized text between two and five characters. If you order a sample plate, you do not need to check qualifications.

Note: A sample plate can never be issued during a registration transaction related to a vehicle.

To order a sample plate

1. On the Plate menu, select Customer Managed Plate.

   The Search Customer Managed Plate window appears.

2. Enter the identification number for the customer for whom you want to order a plate and click Search.

   If you do not know the customer identification number, click Customer Search and use the Search window to find the customer you want.

   The Customer Managed Plate window appears.

3. Click Add.

   The Add Customer Managed Plate window appears.

4. Enter the text/number in Plate #, select Sample Plate, and select the plate configuration.
5. Click Save.

   The window closes and the new record appears on the Customer Managed Plate window.

6. Click Save.

   The record for the sample plate (customer managed plate) is created in the system.

7. If there is a charge for the sample plate, use a miscellaneous transaction to collect payment.

   Note: The actual ordering of the sample plate is completed outside the MOVRS software, and is not tracked in the MOVRS inventory management system.
