Titling an Out-of-State Vehicle Previously Titled in Kansas
If a vehicle previously titled in Kansas was moved out of state and then moved back into Kansas, follow this procedure to transfer the title.
To title an out-of-state vehicle previously titled in Kansas
- If the previous Kansas title is still active in the system, cancel it.

- After you cancel the title, you must edit the vehicle record to add the previous out-of-state ownership information.
- On the menu, select .
- On the Search window, enter the VIN to find the vehicle and click Search.
- On the list of search results, double-click the vehicle you want.
- On the Vehicle Maintenance window, click the tab.
- Select .
- Enter the owner information on the out-of-state title.
This information will appear as the previous owner on the new title.
- Click Save.
- Complete the title and registration transaction using the current owner.
