Work in Process Management

If you cannot finish a transaction that you started and want to resume it later, you can place the transaction on hold. For example, you might put a transaction on hold if you finish entering the information for a transaction, but the customer does not have enough money to pay. When the customer returns, you or another user can reopen the transaction and continue. If a transaction is no longer needed, it can be deleted by someone with the appropriate level of permissions.

If you try to process any transaction for a customer who has a transaction on hold, the Search WIP window appears listing the held transaction before the new transaction window opens. If you want to continue with the held transaction, double-click it. If you want to proceed with the new transaction, click Cancel to close this window.
