When a transaction is processed that affects a title, the system assigns the transaction a status of pending. Such transactions must then go through an approval process. For example, your system might require approval of a title if a title and registration transaction has occurred or if transaction has occurred to associate a security interest holder with a vehicle. Use this procedure to approve the pending title.
All titles go through a 30-day discovery period before being issued. After approval, all titles are printed at the Kansas central office.
Note: If you want to terminate a pending title transaction, cancel it if there is no previous title in the system or void it if there is. To cancel a title, see Cancelling a Title. To void a title, see Voiding a Title.
The Search Pending Title window appears.
The grid area populates with pending titles that match the search criteria you entered.
Note: Titles pending approval are listed by county location. If you are a county user and approve titles for multiple counties, you may have to switch your location profile to the appropriate county to view the pending approval titles for that county.
The Approve Title window appears.
Note: Print Title and Print Immediately check boxes are disabled if a security interest (SI) holder is associated with the title. If the SI holder's interest in the vehicle has ended, you can release that party from the title. For more information, see Releasing a Security Interest Holder from a Vehicle.
Note: If you click Close, the title remains in a pending state.
