Manage Vehicle Description Prequalifier Window

Use the Manage Vehicle Prequalifier Description window to search for vehicle descriptions so you can view and edit the vehicle details received from your VIN decoding subscription service (currently NADA). You can also use this window to manually add a new vehicle description.

On the VRT menu, select Manage Vehicle Definition.

Manage Vehicle Description window element descriptions

Window element	Usage
Search By	Year—Select or type the model year of the vehicle, such as 2012, 1968, and so on. Make—Select or type the brand of vehicle built by the manufacturer, such as Ford, Honda, Lexus, and so on. For example, Toyota manufactures the Lexus brand of vehicles. —Click the Ellipsis button to open the Make Search window and search for a make that did not appear in the Make field. Double-click an entry from the results to assign it. Model—Select or type the type of vehicle, such as Escape, Civic, LS250, and so on. VINPrefix—Enter the portion of the VIN that precedes the numeric portion of the VIN.
VIN Prefix	Displays the first 10 digits of the VIN for any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Year	Displays the model year of any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Make	Displays the brand of vehicle for any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Model	Displays the type of vehicle (such as Escape, Civic, LS250, and so on) for any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Style	Displays the vehicle style (such as two-door (2D), four-door (4D), and so on) of any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Base / Empty Vehicle Weight	Displays the empty vehicle weight of any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
MGVW	Displays the manufacturer's gross vehicle weight of any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Fuel Type	Displays the type of material used to power the vehicle for any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Cylinders	Displays the number of engine cylinders in the vehicle for any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
MSRP	Displays the manufacturer's suggested retail price of any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
NCIC Make	Displays the NCIC make code of the vehicle for any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
NCIC Series	Displays the NCIC series code of the vehicle for any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Retail Value Factor	Displays the factor used to calculate the retail value of the vehicle for any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Class Code	Displays a three-digit identifier representing the value of the vehicle for any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Taxable Value	Displays the value of the vehicle that can be used to calculate taxes for any vehicle descriptions that satisfy the search criteria you entered in the Search By area.
Add Vehicle Description	Click to open the Manage Vehicle Description window and add a new vehicle description to the system.
Continue	Not available.
Search	Click to look for records based on your search parameters.
Reset	Click to clear your search parameters.
Cancel	Click to close the window without saving.
