The common area on the top of this window displays basic information about the active transaction. The buttons at the bottom apply to the entire window regardless of which tab is active.
Junking Certificate window, common area element descriptions
Window element
Usage
VIN
Displays the vehicle identification number of the active vehicle. Click to open the Vehicle Maintenance window and view or edit vehicle details.
Vehicle
Displays the year, make, and model of the active vehicle.
Veh Type
Displays the kind of vehicle, such as Passenger, Rugged Terrain, Van, and so on.
Location
Select the location through which you want to process the transaction. The locations you can select are limited based on your user login.
Set
To save the transaction in an existing set containing other transactions, select the set number. Otherwise, select New Set.
Click to check the transaction information for errors and discretionary edits. If any are found, the Error Worksheet window appears. Otherwise, a message appears notifying you that the transaction validated successfully.
Pay Now
Click to process payment for the transaction immediately. The Payment Manager - Statement window appears.
Pay Later
Click to save the transaction and process payment later. You can recall saved transactions using the Payment Manager - Transactions window.
Hold
Click to save the transaction to complete it later. You can recall held transactions using the Payment Manager - Transactions window.
Deny
Click to reject the transaction and save a record of the denial.
Print App
Click to open and print the application.
Note: Printing for all titles will be done by the central state office.
Revert
Click to clear the window information to the values that appeared when it opened.
Use this tab to modify the vehicle information and request a junking certificate.
Junking Certificate window, Application tab element descriptions
Window element
Usage
Vehicle
Received Date—Displays the processing date for the transaction.
Purchased Date—Displays the date when the customer purchased the vehicle.
Style—Displays the vehicle style. Style typically includes information on number of doors or wheels a vehicle has, what type of cargo the vehicle is designed to carry, or what function the vehicle was designed for
Weight—Displays the vehicle weight.
List Price—Displays the original manufacturer's suggested retail price.
Color—Displays the color of the vehicle.
Length—Displays the length of the vehicle.
MGVW—Displays the manufacturer's gross vehicle weight.
GCW—Displays the weight of the vehicle plus any optional equipment, such as a trailer or vehicle cargo.
Ton Code—Displays the ton code of the vehicle, which is a value assigned by the manufacturer to describe the size/general load capacity of a truck.
Depr. MSRP—Displays the how much the value of the vehicle has reduced from the manufacturer's suggested retail price.
Last Odom—Displays the odometer reading entered when the vehicle was last titled.
New Odom—If applicable, enter the odometer reading for the new title.
Odom Unit—Enter the units in which the odometer reading is measured.
Reading Type—Enter the type of odometer reading taken for the new title.
Tracking #—Displays the tracking number of the vehicle.
Fleet #—Displays the fleet number of the vehicle.
Courtesy Reg—Displays if there is a temporary or courtesy registration on the vehicle. A junking certificate cannot be obtained if the vehicle has a courtesy registration. Title information must be corrected before junking the vehicle.
Electronic—Select if this is an electronic title.
Mail To—Select to mail the corrected title to the customer. You can change the address to which the title is mailed on the Mailing tab.
Priority Processing—Select if the customer has requested priority processing for their title or if another condition has been met (such as a repossession or title replacement) that requires priority processing.
Priority Mailing Fee—Select if a standardized mailing fee needs to be applied to the transaction. This option is not active unless Priority Processing is selected.
Customers
Prev Title # (State)—Displays the current title number and state in which the vehicle is titled.
Prev Owner—Displays the name of the individual who owned the vehicle prior to the current owner, if applicable.
Customer ID—Displays the primary identification number for the each customer that is associated with the vehicle. You can change the customers on the Relate Customers tab.
ID Type—Displays the identification type corresponding to the customer identification number.
Legal Name—Displays the name of the corresponding customer. Click to open the Customer Maintenance window and view or edit customer details.
Residency Address—Displays the primary address of the corresponding customer.
Date of Birth—If the corresponding customer is an individual, displays the birth date of the customer.
Relationship—Displays the relationship of the corresponding customer to the vehicle.
Priority—Displays the precedence of the corresponding customer or security interest holder in relation to other customers who have the same association to the vehicle.
Ownership Status—If there is more than one customer, displays whether the relationship to the vehicle is and or or. If it is and, then each customer must be involved in transactions regarding the vehicle. If it is or, then one customer or the other can be involved in transactions regarding the vehicle.
Transaction Fees
Displays the total amount of fees due for the transaction. The fees update when you change the relevant information on the window.
Use this tab to review vehicle title and ownership information.

Previous Title
Title #—Displays the current vehicle title number.
Title Type—Displays the current vehicle title type.
Electronic—Displays whether the title is electronic.
State—Displays the state in which the current title for the vehicle was issued.
Title Issued Date—Displays the date on which the current title for the vehicle was issued.
Previous Registration
Registration (From/To and Disposition)—Displays the currently active registration dates.
Usage (Tons)—Displays the vehicle usage.
Cancel Previous Title
Cancel Reason—Displays the reason for the cancellation of the current title.
Cancel Date—Displays the date of the cancellation of the current title.
Previous Ownership
Ownership Status—This field is inactivated.
Ownership Transfer Reason—Displays the list of transfer reasons you can select when a title is transferred or cancelled.
Customer ID—Displays the primary identification number for the primary customer who is associated with the vehicle.
ID Type—Displays the identification type that corresponds to the customer identification number.
Legal Name—Displays the name of the customer.
Residency Address—Displays the primary address of the customer.
Date of Birth—Displays the birth date of the customer.
Priority—Displays the priority of the customer in relation to the other customers associated with the vehicle.
Ownership Status—Displays the priority of the customer and dictates the order in which the owners are listed on the title.
Ownership Status—Applies only to owners and transfer on death designees. If there is more than one customer listed in a category, this field displays whether the relationship between the listed customers, in relation to the vehicle, is and or or. If it is and, then both customers must be involved in transactions regarding the vehicle. If it is or, then one customer or the other can be involved in transactions regarding the vehicle. This field applies only to the customer to whom it is assigned and the one immediately after. For this reason, a value for this field is not assigned to the final listed customer. For more information about the Ownership Status field, see Understanding Ownership Status. Note that priority becomes irrelevant when the customer's ownership status is set to or.
Security Interests
SI ID#—Displays the primary identification number for each security interest holder that is associated with the vehicle.
Legal Name—Displays the name of each security interest holder.
Residency Address—Displays the primary address of each security interest holder.
Recorded Date—Displays the date on which the security interest was added.
Cancel Date—To remove the corresponding security interest, enter the date on which the security interest was cancelled.
Cancel Reason—To remove the corresponding security interest, enter the reason the security interest was cancelled.
SI Mailing Address—Displays the mailing address for the security interest.
Priority—Displays the priority of the customer in relation to the other customers associated with the vehicle.

Name—Select the dealer's name. Many dealers are licensed to do business under multiple names.

More Dealers—Select if there are more than three dealer assignments.
New Vehicle—Select if the vehicle is new.
Add Kansas Dealer—Click to enter an assignment to an in-state dealer.

Originating Document
Effective Date—Displays the application date for junking certification.
Ownership Document—Displays the original ownership document on the vehicle.
Ownership Transfer Reason—Displays the list of transfer reasons you can select for junking the vehicle. Examples are Junk or Crushed.
MCO #—Displays the MCO (Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin) number if was applicable to the original ownership document.
Credential #—Displays the seller's dealer license number if applicable to the original ownership document.
Credential State—Displays the state of the seller's dealer license number if applicable to the original ownership document.
Credential Date—Select the date the customer purchased the vehicle or when the vehicle was brought into the state.
Name—Displays the lawful name of the customer.
Address Line 1—Displays the number and street name.
Address Line 2—Displays additional information related to the address.
City—Displays the city.
State—Displays the state.
Zip Code—Displays the zip code.
Country—Displays the country.

Property Tax
Class Code—Displays a three-digit identifier representing the value of the vehicle based on MSRP.
Current Mill Levy Rate—The current assessed property tax rate.
Property Tax Exemption—If the vehicle qualifies for an exemption, select the exemption reason.
Current Year Tax—The current years calculated tax on the vehicle.
Prior Year Tax—The previous years calculated tax on the vehicle.
Prior Year Interest— Displays any penalty interest accrued if the prior year taxes were delinquent.
Total Due—The total amount due from the customer.
Tax Unit—The numerical code of the tax unit (geographical area) used to calculate taxes for residents of that area.
Prior Mill Levy Rate—The previous assessed property tax rate.
Sales Tax
Buyer Information
Name—Displays the name of the corresponding customer.
Address Line 1—Displays the first line of the customer's address.
Address Line 2 —Displays the second line of the customer's address.
City—Displays the city of the customer's address.
State—Displays the state of the customer's address.
Zip Code—Displays the zip code of the customer's address.
Country—Displays the country of the customer's address.
State Sales Tax Rate—Displays the legally imposed tax rate amount for the state.
County Sales Tax Rate—Displays the legally imposed tax rate amount for the corresponding county.
City Sales Tax Rate—Displays the legally imposed tax rate amount for the corresponding city.
Special Tax District Rate—Displays the legally imposed tax rate amount for the corresponding district.
Seller Information
Name—Displays the name of the corresponding customer.
Address Line 1—Displays the first line of the customer's address.
Address Line 2 —Displays the second line of the customer's address.
City—Displays the city of the customer's address.
State—Displays the state of the customer's address.
Zip Code—Displays the zip code of the customer's address.
Country—Displays the country of the customer's address.
State Sales Tax Rate—Displays the legally imposed tax rate amount for the state.
County Sales Tax Rate—Displays the legally imposed tax rate amount for the corresponding county.
City Sales Tax Rate—Displays the legally imposed tax rate amount for the corresponding city.
Special Tax District Rate—Displays the legally imposed tax rate amount for the corresponding district.
Other
Gross Purchase Price—Enter the full purchase price for the vehicle.
Trade-In Amount—Enter the trade-in price for the old vehicle, if applicable.
Net Purchase Price—The system displays the gross purchase price minus the trade in amount, when applicable.
Sales Tax Paid—Enter the amount of sales tax that was paid on the vehicle.
Exemption—Click if there are concessions on the vehicle.
Exception—Click if there are any exclusions on this vehicle.
Data Requirements(s) for exemption—Enter any further information on this transaction for an exemption on this vehicle.
Update Tax Rates
Click to update the latest tax rates into the registration form. The Update Tax Rates button must be clicked for every vehicle junking certificate because it retrieves the tax rates for the buyer and seller based upon address location.
Isolated Sales Tax
Displays the total amount of sales tax for the transaction. The tax amount may update when you change the relevant information on the window.
Use this tab to add, remove, and re-prioritize customer associations with the vehicle, including owners, security interest holders, lessees, and primary operators.

Capture Signature
Click to open the Customer Signatures window, where you can specify which customer is signing and launch the electronic signature software. The signature captured will be associated with both the transaction and the customer record.
Use this tab to review the mailing addresses of each customer associated with the vehicle and to specify mailing instructions.

Title Mailing Instructions
Mail To—Select the customer to whom the vehicle title or registration should be mailed.
Name—Displays the name of the customer to whom the item will be delivered unless Other has been selected in the Mail To field. In that case, enter the name of a different recipient in the Name field and enter that person's address in the address fields.
Address Type—Select the kind of address where the customer should receive the title, such as Residency, Mailing, etc.
Displays the following information relating to the items you select in the Mail To and Address Type drop-down lists.
Address Line 1—Displays the number and street name.
Address Line 2—Displays additional information related to the address.
Use this tab to review the documents required for the transaction or to add a document presented by the customer to support the transaction.

Required
Displays a check mark if the corresponding document is mandatory for completing the transaction.
Received
Select to indicate the customer presented the corresponding document to support the transaction.
Document Description
Displays an explanation of any documents required for the transaction, such as Bill of Sale, Damage Disclosure Statement, or Ownership Document. If you add a new document, select the appropriate description.
Document Reference #
Enter the reference number for the supporting document.
Comment
Enter any remarks about the document. Comments may be entered regardless whether the Required, Received, Scanned, or Scan Later boxes are checked.
Scanned
Select to indicate that the document has been scanned.
Scan Later
Select to indicate that the document will be scanned later.
Remove Document
Click to remove the selected document from this transaction.
Scan
Click to scan a document for this transaction.
Scan All Later
Click to indicate the documents for this transaction will be scanned at a later time. The system places a check mark in the Scan Later box for the documents that have been marked as received. When the transaction is finalized, the system generates an image cover sheet which contains a bar code related to this transaction. You can use this image cover sheet to collect and organize the documents that are designated to be scanned at a later time.
Add
Click to insert a line to add a supporting document.
Use this tab to view a history of vehicle designations, bonds, and inspections.
Junking Certificate window, Exceptions tab element descriptions

Usage
Designations
Designation—The descriptive NMVTIS or state label/brand currently or historically associated with the status of a vehicle, such as Junk, Salvage, Flood, etc.
Designation Origin—Displays the entity that assigned the designation/brand to the vehicle.
Orig Jurisdiction—If the designation origin is out of state or NMVTIS, displays the specific state.
Removal Reason—Indicates why a designation/brand was withdrawn from the vehicle.
Effective Date—Displays the date when the corresponding designation became effective.
End Date—Displays the date when the corresponding designation ended.
Comment—Displays any comments for the designation.
Bonds
Bond #—Displays the number of each bond currently or historically associated with the vehicle.
Bond Holder—Displays the name of the agency that issued the corresponding bond.
Issuance Date—Displays the date when the corresponding bond was issued.
Expiration Date—Displays the date when the corresponding bond expired.
Effective Date—Displays the date when the corresponding bond became effective.
End Date—Displays the date when the corresponding bond ended. The bond can end prior to its expiration date.
Inspections
Inspection Date—Displays the date of each vehicle inspection.
Doc Xref #—Displays the inspection document reference number.
Reason—Displays the reason for the corresponding inspection.
Status—Displays the status of the vehicle upon inspection.
Value—Displays the value of the vehicle contents upon inspection.
Weight—Displays the weight of the vehicle upon inspection.
