Use the Title and Registration window to issue a title and registration for an existing customer who buys a new car or for a new customer bringing a car in from out of state.
To open the Title and Registration window:
The Title and Registration Prequalifier window appears.
The Title and Registration window is composed of the following:

The common area at the top of this window displays basic information about the active vehicle. Likewise, the buttons on the bottom are for the window as a whole, regardless of which tab is showing.

Displays the vehicle identification number of the active vehicle. Click to open the Vehicle Maintenance window and view or edit vehicle details. |

Displays the year, make, and model of the active vehicle. |
Veh Type |
Displays the type of the active vehicle. |
Location |
Select the location through which you want to process the transaction. The locations that you can select are limited based on your user login. |
Set |
If you want to save the transaction in an existing set that contains other transactions, select the set number. Otherwise, select New Set. |
Search SI App |
Click to open the SI Application Search Results window and identify an existing SI application for the vehicle. |
Validate |
Click to check the transaction information for errors and discretionary edits. If any are found, the Error Worksheet window appears. Otherwise, a message appears notifying you that the transaction validated successfully. |
Pay Now |
Click to process payment for the transaction immediately on the Payment Manager - Statement window in the Cash Drawer and Finance online help. |
Pay Later |
Click to save the transaction and process payment later. You can recall saved transactions using the Payment Manager - Transactions window in the Cash Drawer and Finance online help. |
Hold |
Click to save the transaction to complete it later. You can recall held transactions using the Payment Manager - Transactions window in the Cash Drawer and Finance online help. |
Deny |
Click to deny the transaction and save a record of the denial. |
Print App |
Click to open and print the application. |
Revert |
Click to revert the window information to the values that appeared when it opened. |
Cancel |
Click to close the window without saving. |

Use this tab to view tax information for the vehicle. Property tax rates and sales tax rates are determined by the state, county, city and special tax districts for the buyer, seller and vehicle registration location. Tax rates are determined by each locality, are programmed within the system and administered by the state. Sales tax and property tax receipts are generated and printed for all ownership transfer transactions. The system stores the sales tax receipt that is generated when the registration is completed into the system correspondence section so it can be searched and retrieved at a later date.

Update Tax Rates |
Click to update the latest tax rates into the registration form. The Update Tax Rates button must be clicked for every vehicle registration because it retrieves the tax rates for the buyer and seller based upon address location. |
Isolated Sales Tax |
Displays the total amount of sales tax for the transaction. The tax amount may update when you change the relevant information on the window. |

Capture Signature |

Displays the priority of each customer and security interest holder in relation to the other customers who have the same association with the vehicle. |
Ownership Status |
If there is more than one customer, displays whether the relationship to the vehicle is and or or. If it is and, then each customer must be involved in transactions regarding the vehicle. If it is or, then one customer or the other can be involved in transactions regarding the vehicle. |

When a customer sells a vehicle prior to the end of their yearly registration cycle, they can receive credit for registration fees and property tax paid on that vehicle. Use this tab to view the credit or refund information on the terminated vehicle.

Displays the end date of the corresponding vehicle's registration if the registration were not being terminated. |
Registration County |
Displays the county where the vehicle is registered. |
Registration Usage |
Displays the usage of the corresponding vehicle. |
Registration Disposition |
Displays the registration disposition type associated with the corresponding vehicle. Examples include cancelled, revoked, or junked. |
Registration Fee Paid |
Displays the total fee paid for registration on the corresponding vehicle. |
Property Tax Paid |
Displays the total amount paid for property tax on the corresponding vehicle. |
Registration Disposition Date |
Displays the date on which the value in the Registration Disposition column was selected. |
Select Ownership |
Click Select Ownership to select the customer who is applying for the credit or refund for this registration. |
Add |
Click to search for a vehicle using the Plate Search window and add the associated registration to the credit list. The system adds the vehicle registration you specify if it is eligible for a registration fee credit and/or property tax credit. |

Displays the amount of any credit that will be applied to the property tax fees previously collected for the registration(s) listed on this tab if the transaction is finalized. |

Displays the amount of any refund of property taxes for the vehicle(s) associated with the registration(s) listed on this tab if the transaction is finalized. |

Enter the reference number for the supporting document. |
Comment |
Enter a remark about the document. For example, you might use this field to indicate the required document was received and on file. |
Scanned |
Select to indicate that the document has been scanned. |
Scan Later |
Select to indicate that the document will be scanned later. |
Remove |
Click to remove the selected document from this transaction. |
Scan |
Click to scan a document for this transaction. |
Scan All Later |
Click to indicate the documents for this transaction will be scanned at a later time. The system places a check mark in the Scan Later box for the documents that have been marked as received. When the transaction is finalized, the system generates an image cover sheet which contains a bar code related to this transaction. You can use this image cover sheet to collect and organize the documents that are designated to be scanned at a later time. |
