Sequence Plate Numbers Window

Purpose

Use the Sequence Plate Numbers window to verify or specify the starting sequence number for the plates on order.

Navigation

To open the Sequence Plate Numbers window:

On the Inventory menu, select Manage Orders.
The Manage Orders window appears.
Select an order, then select Final Approved in the Status column.

Sequence Plate Numbers window element descriptions

Window element	Usage
Plate Order	Plate Pattern—Displays the alphanumeric pattern of the plate. For example, ###AAA means the first three digits are numbers, and the last three digits are letters. Plate Prefix—Displays a starting code or value (alpha or numeric), if a set prefix exists for the plate type being ordered. Plate Suffix—Displays an ending code or value (alpha or numeric), if a set suffix exists for the plate type being ordered. Quantity—Displays the order quantity that was specified on the Manage Orders window. Last Used Pattern Sequence #—Displays the last number that was used when this plate type was previously ordered. Begin Pattern Sequence #—Displays the default starting number for the present order. You can override the default number by manually entering a number. End Pattern Sequence #—Displays the ending plate number for the present order, by adding the value in Quantity to the value in Begin Pattern Sequence #. If you manually enter a number in Begin Pattern Sequence #, click Get Plate Numbers to update the value in this field. New Beginning Plate Number—Displays the next sequence value after the number in Begin Pattern Sequence #. If you change the value in Begin Pattern Sequence # and click Get Plate Numbers, the system updates the value. The purpose of this field is to indicate how the number sequence increases by one, in the event that the sequence of the letter and number combination is not obvious. New Ending Plate Number—Displays the ending plate number for the present order, by adding the value in Quantity minus one to the value in New Beginning Plate Number. This number should always equal the number in End Pattern Sequence #.
Get Plate Numbers	Click to retrieve the plate sequence if you manually entered a number in Begin Pattern Sequence #. The system processes the request to see if all of the numbers in the new sequence are available, and adjusts the numbers in End Pattern Sequence #, New Beginning Plate Number, and New Ending Plate Number.
Continue	Click to process the plate order. This button will be inactive if there is an error that needs to be corrected.
Cancel	Click to close the window without saving.
