Reserve Plate Window

Purpose

Use the Reserve Plate window to reserve a plate with specific personalized text for a customer. Once you reserve a plate, the reserved plate text cannot be issued or assigned to a plate order. If you reserve a personalized plate, you still must order the plate.

Once reserved, plates are held for 30 days or until they are ordered/assigned by the customer who reserved them.

Navigation

To open the Reserve Plate window:

On the Plate menu, select Reserve Plate.
The Plate Prequalifier window appears.
Enter an identification number for the customer who wants to reserve the plate.
Click Continue.

Detailed Description

Reserve Plate window element descriptions

Window element	Usage
Transaction Type	Displays the type of transaction being completed.
Customer Name	Displays the name of the customer who is reserving the plate.
Residency Address	Displays the primary address of the customer who is reserving the plate.
Transaction Date	Displays the date of the transaction.
Customer #	Displays the system-generated customer number of the customer who is reserving the plate.
Customer Id	Displays the primary identification type and number of the customer who is reserving the plate.
Application Data	Expiration Date—Displays the date on which the plate was reserved. Status—Displays the status of the plate reservation.
Plate Request	You can request a plate from inventory by completing this area. Plate Number—Enter the plate number from inventory that you want to reserve. Plate Configuration—Select the type of plate you want to reserve. County—Displays the county of the plate that corresponds to the number you entered.
Personalized Text Request	You can reserve a plate with personalized text by completing this area. Personalized Text—Enter the personalized text that you want to reserve. Text can be reserved only if it is not already in use on another plate. Comment—Enter any comment of up to 255 characters.
Save	Click to reserve the plate and close the window. The system displays a message if the plate text has already been issued to someone else.
Cancel	Click to close the window without reserving a plate.
